Liberal candidate for Ripon, Louise Staley, today announced that a re-elected Napthine Government will deliver $100,000 towards the redevelopment of the Stawell Swifts club rooms and bushfire support centre.

Liberal candidate for Ripon, Louise Staley, today announced that a re-elected Napthine Government will deliver $100,000 towards the redevelopment of the Stawell Swifts club rooms and bushfire support centre.

“I’m delighted to be making this announcement for this great local club and for the bushfire support centre” Ms Staley said.

“Not only do clubs like the Stawell Swifts encourage young people to be active and healthy, they also bring people together and create a real sense of community.”

The project will include the extension of the current Swifts Football Club rooms with a new kitchen. The new facility will be used by the football club during the winter season and by emergency services and volunteers in the event of a bushfire.

“As part of Premier Denis Napthine’s team, I’ve been working hard to lock in funding and make this project a reality.”

“Today’s announcement is wonderful news for the Stawell Swifts and for the communities the bushfire support centre services. The project will also deliver jobs to Stawell during the construction phase.”
Member for Western Metropolitan Region, Simon Ramsay MLC, also welcomed the announcement.

“Louise has been a working hard to get this project across the line for the Stawell community. She’d been taking every opportunity to make the case for upgrades to the clubrooms and that persistence has really paid off for this community,” Mr Ramsay said.

“The people of Ripon would be lucky to have such an active, vocal, community minded representative as their local Member.”
