Since December 2014 when Daniel Andrews was elected; the total labour force for Ararat has shrunk by 599 jobs.

Over the same period, unemployment now sits at 5.6 percent with around 292 people looking for work.

Ripon MP Louise Staley said the unemployment crises would continue to worsen while the Government remains unfocused on country Victoria.

“Families in Ararat are suffering; it is getting increasingly harder to find work; Daniel Andrews needs to act.” Ms Staley said.

“Three years of Daniel Andrews has taken its toll on Ararat; he has had plenty of time to turn things around yet unemployment continues to spiral out of control.”

“Ararat deserves a state government that is prepared to work with local businesses, invest in our region and help grow more jobs.”
