Liberal candidate for Ripon, Louise Staley, today confirmed that she would join other members of the community to ‘Walk the Line’ in support of the proposed Ripon route for the Murray Basin Rail Project.

Liberal candidate for Ripon, Louise Staley, today confirmed that she would join other members of the community to ‘Walk the Line’ in support of the proposed Ripon route for the Murray Basin Rail Project.

“The Napthine Government is investing $220 million to deliver key regional freight rail line upgrades and build the Murray Basin Rail Project, a transformational Mildura to Geelong rail standardisation link,” Ms Staley said.

“There are several possible routes which the rail link could take and I’m adding my voice to the Ripon community’s call for the link to come through our electorate.”

“We already have existing rail infrastructure which can be upgraded to create this vital standardised rail freight link.”

The Napthine Government’s Murray Basin Rail Project that will revolutionise the movement of freight across the state and unlock the economic potential of regional and rural Victoria.

“This project will create jobs, take trucks off regional roads and improve road safety,” Ms Staley said.

While details have not yet been released, the ‘Walk the Line’ event will be held on the 5th of October 2014.
