Ripon MP Louise Staley today joined former Minister for Early and Childhood Development Wendy Lovell to celebrate the Miners Rest Kindergarten being open.

The long awaited Miners Rest Kindergarten was made possible with $600,000 being funded by the previous Liberal Government through its Children’s Facility Capital Grants program.

On top of this Ms Staley and Ms Lovell announced an extra $100,000 to create a state of the art play ground during last year’s State election campaign.

To celebrate the facility being open Ms Lovell and Ms Staley jointly presented the Kindergarten with a hamper of arts supplies.

Ms Staley said it was a great relief for the community to see the project completed.

“Miners Rest is a rapidly growing community that needs access to top facilities, This Kindergarten funded by the former Liberal Government provides families with a quality more convenient option”. Ms Staley Said.

“The people of Miners rest have been long campaigning for a local Kindergarten, only the Liberal-National Coalition was prepared to listen to their pleas.”

“This cutting edge facility ensures local families don’t have to travel to far to access a quality Kinder”
