The growing Crime problem in Ripon is set to continue after the Andrews Government failed to fund key local projects.
Despite strong pushes from both communities the Andrews Government chose not to fund a 24 hour police Station in Creswick and an upgrade of the Maryborough Court House.
Ripon MP Louise Staley said failing to fund either project proved the Andrews Government was not serious about tackling the crime in Ripon.
“Daniel Andrews’ failure to fund a 24 hour Police Station in Creswick and upgrade the Maryborough Court shows that Labor has no interest in tackling the crime wave Victoria.” Ms Staley said
“Creswick has been crying out for a 24 hour police station for a long time, under Daniel Andrews residents are waiting over 40 minutes for a police to travel from Bacchus Marsh, this has to stop.”
“An upgraded court house in Maryborough is essential, victims are being forced to sit next to the people that wronged them”.
“Labors latest budget shows that nothing will be done about fixing the growing crime surge anytime soon.”
“Crime is up 43.3% in Creswick since the election of the Andrews Government in 2014.”
