Ripon MP Louise Staley has condemned the State Government for failing to come up with a solution for the future of Stawell’s Big Hill Mine.
Rather than announcing any policy changes on the future of Big Hill, the Andrews Government instead announced a series of talk fests.
Member for Ripon Louise Staley said Stawell residents are being forced to wait longer as the State Government was still clueless on Big Hill.
“Despite two years to get a grip on things the Andrews Government still does not have any answers on the future of Big Hill.” Ms Staley said
“The Stawell Community needs leadership and action on this issue, not another round of talk fests.”
“150 people lost their jobs because the Andrews Government couldn’t make a decision on the future of Big Hill, it is bitterly disappointing that after all this time they still don’t have any solutions.”
“While Daniel Andrews can’t make up his mind, the community of Stawell continues to bleed jobs, we need a government with an economic plan that will fix the damage inflicted by this weak indecisive Premier.”
