Member for Ripon, Louise Staley has celebrated the opening of the extension of natural gas to Avoca as a great day for the town.
Homes in Avoca will as of today have access to natural gas following through on a funding commitment made by the former Liberal State Government in May 2013.
The then Premier Ted Baillieu overcame years of Labor inaction and listened to the communities loud call for natural gas.
With works completed the project was officially launched today, Ripon MP Louise Staley said this was a great result for Avoca.
“A reliable gas connection is a game changer for Avoca, this will provide great growth for the town.” Ms Staley said
“As a result of the former Liberal Government’s investment in natural gas Avoca residents will no longer have to pay for expensive heavy inconvenient bottles.”
“The Liberal Party cares about Avoca, it is very disappointing that not one representative from the Andrews Government could be bothered to turn up to this historic day.”
“Having access to natural gas will make Avoca more attractive to new residents and industries looking to establish themselves here.”
