Local job losses continue under Daniel Andrews

This month’s ABS regional jobs figures show the unemployment rate in regional Victoria has increased 5.4% to 5.7%

In the North West region (including Ararat, Stawell, St Arnaud, Charlton and Donald) the unemployment rate has risen 3.3 since April 2016 from 4.5% to 7.8% in April 2017.

The number of unemployed people in North West Victoria has risen from 4352 when Labor took office in December 2014 to 5968 in April 2017.

While there was further pain in the Ballarat Region (including Ballarat, Maryborough, Beaufort, Creswick, Clunes and Avoca) with the unemployment rate shooting up 0.4% since January 2017 to 4.0% in April 2017.

The Labor Government is failing people in regional Victoria who need real job opportunities. Daniel Andrew’s obsession with Melbourne means regional Victoria gets neglected and the local economy is suffering. Residents are finding it tough; it is becoming harder and harder to secure a job under Daniel Andrews.
