Member for Ripon Louise Staley has hit out at the Andrews Government for claiming Lucas was in Melbourne in a recent media release.
On Friday Education Minister James Merlino issued a media release entitled ‘Eight new schools in Melbourne fast-tracked’ which wrongly included Lucas Primary School in a list of Melbourne based schools.
Ripon MP Louise Staley, said that the latest slight is further proof of how Melbourne centric the Andrews Labor Government has become.
“Lucas is located in Ballarat in country Victoria, claiming Lucas is in Melbourne shows that the Andrews Government only cares about the city.” Ms Staley said.
“Lucas is not in Melbourne, James Merlino needs to jump on google maps and do his research.”
“This is a further insult to the people of Lucas who have been forced to wait 4 long years to get funding for a new primary school.”
“The Victorian Liberal Party committed to building Lucas Primary School in 2014, and yet four years of Labor Government later and not a sod has been turned.”
“The Liberals will build Lucas Primary School if elected and will have it open in time for Term One 2020.”
